Week 19 – Imagination

Everybody has imagination.

We use it all the time.

Mostly to our detriment.

What Do You Imagine?

Here is a humorous look at imagination by Will Smith.  There is some profanity in the talk, so if that would offend you, skip the video

Perhaps you remember the movie, "After Earth", with Will and his son. There is a line in the movie that is priceless:

We have a choice. That is a powerful statement. We can choose what to think. If we believe those thoughts, we create either courage or fear, depending upon the nature of the thought. Mr. Haanel has this to say about fear:

Fear is a powerful form of thought. It paralyzes the nerve centers, thus affecting the circulation of the blood.
This, in turn, paralyzes the muscular system, so that fear affects the entire being, body, brain and nerve, physical, mental, and muscular.
Of course, the way to overcome fear is to be conscious of power. What is this mysterios vital force which we call power? We do not know, but then, neither do we know what electricity is.

We have been learning about thought, which is mind in motion. As you think about things which have not happened yet, you are imagining them. We tell ourselves a story about what we think will happen. If we are conscious of our power, we can control our emotions instead of being controlled by them.

Find the Principle

We learn that supposed opposites, such as heat and cold, sickness and health, truth and error are not opposites at all.  They are merely different points along the spectrum of one principle.  There is a principle of health. Health is vitality and good vibrations.  Sickness is the absence of health. Death would be no health, zero vibrations. There is a principle of heat. We learn that molecules vibrate.  Faster vibrations produce increasing heat. Cold is the absence of heat, lesser vibrations. Absolute zero is no vibrations. There is a principle of truth, Error is the absence of truth. Appearances can be deceiving. One description of fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.

As we learned last week, one must find the principle and have a logical foundation for their faith. We are on a journey of discovery.  Join us. Consider subscribing so as not to miss a post. I wish for you blessing and beauty.
