Week 14 – Slippage
I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy and I always keep my promises.
You would think that I had no problems, but sometimes life doesn’t go like you hope.
Over the Christmas holiday, which is full of good cheer, I found myself reacting to comments from my wife inappropriately. I claim to meet all situations and people with Grace. But you couldn’t prove it the way I was acting.
So, naturally I had to ask forgiveness from both my wife and my future self (FS). My future self was gracious and forgiving. He told me that the past is prologue and the past is one second ago. He said that what mattered was now. The only thing that mattered was the now – the moment – the present.
ME: Yeah, but just now I was ugly. I failed in that moment.
FS: Did you learn anything from that?
ME: Yes. I don’t like me when I am like that.
FS: Are you always like that?
ME: No. Very rarely.
FS: OK, then. Drop that red pencil and cut us some slack. You will get better at grace. I did.
ME: Yes, but I am a GUIDE!
ME: Guides should always be perfect – in line with the confession.
FS: Who told you that?
ME: I did.
FS: That is nothing but Beef Stroganoff from your ego. Humble yourself before God and recognize that you are a work in progress.
FS: Remember, from childish efforts, the oak tumbles. One brick at a time builds a castle.
ME: OK, I persist.
FS: Good. Trust me in this, you are on your way to realizing your greatness.
ME: Isn’t that egotistic? Pride goeth before a fall.
FS: True. Who was the meekest man in all the earth?
FS: Moses was, and he wrote that about himself
ME: He did?
FS: Yes, meekness is saying about yourself what God says. God says you are fantastic right now. You might not act like it yet, but you are. People refer to Jesus as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, right?
ME: Yes, they do.
FS: Who are the kings of whom He is the King?
FS: Who are the lords of whom He is Lord?
ME: I never really thought about it.
FS: The Bible calls you a royal priest, did you know that? You are a minister of reconciliation, so get in harmony with that.
ME: Yeah, the exercise for this week was to be in Harmony and think about it.
FS: OK. Do that. You are whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy. Remember that.
