MKMMA Week 17A – The Hero’s Journey
This week, we pause to take stock.
We received the call to adventure to find our authentic self. We had supernatural support because God is at work in us to will and to do of His good pleasure. (Ephesians 1:9; Philippians 2:13) With that aid, we crossed the threshold into the unknown and found that we needed to fix our old blueprint.
We discovered that the subconscious controls every aspect of our life. That can be good or bad. It saves us from having to consciously decide to breathe or have our heart beat or have our food digested. On the other hand, it can cause us to act in ways we don’t comprehend.
We realized that we could reprogram our subconscious by controlling our conscious thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:5) With the help of our mentors and guides, we discovered our Personal Pivotal Needs (PPNs) and our Definite Major Purpose (DMP). We began speaking our desires as though they had already occurred (Mark 11:23; Romans 4:17)
We are heading for the abyss. We have met and defeated many challenges and temptations and are ready to be transformed. As preparation, we are reading obituaries to set us up for the next scroll. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
We are facing the death of our old self and the birth of a new one. It is a very real death and we must pass through all the stages: (death and resurrection)
- Denial – refusing to let go of the associative memory, our identity with which we are familiar.
- Anger – how could I have been so wrong for all these years. It just isn’t fair, etc.
- Grief – actual sorrow over the things that are passing from us. We must let go of the things we no longer need to find our true selves.
- Acceptance – we are transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2)
We find the answers in the Silence. We trust the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent author and giver of life, Who loves us. Knowing that we are loved, we let go of fear. We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:18-20)
Like a butterfly emerging from the cocoon, we are brand new. We are nature’s greatest miracle. (Bible text)
Peace be the journey.
