MKE 2018 Week 24 – Promises

Promises in the Bible

In the Questions and Answers at the end of Lesson 24, we find this interesting statement:

You will also be able to say, "It is not I that doeth the works, but the ‘Father’ that dwelleth within me, He doeth the works." You will come to know that the "Father" is the Universal Mind and that He does really and truly dwell within you, in other words, you will come to know that the wonderful promises made in the Bible are fact, not fiction, and can be demonstrated by anyone having sufficient understanding.

Jesus said that you would know the truth and the truth (that you know) will make you free.

Renewing Your Mind

We have been training ourselves to think differently for the last six months. There is a Biblical instruction to not be "conformed to this world", but be "transformed by the renewing of your mind." (Romans 12:2) This is not an easy task. In fact, it is hard mental labor. The labor that Mr. Haanel says "so few are willing to do." I want to give you two analogies to help you see the magnitude of what we have accomplished.

The Highway. If you can imagine the easy path, it would be like a six-lane highway. We have a tendency to default to the easy path, to "fit in", to be "normal".  On the other hand, to find your own path, you might have to blaze a trail where there was no trail. It isn't just a narrow country road, it doesn't exist at all and you have to hack your way through it. Remember Haanels' comment that you must create new brain cells to receive a new idea? I like the highway analogy because my wife thought of it and I think it is a great fit. You might have to spend some time thinking about it to see it.

The Internet. Think of your mobile phone. It has a mode called "Airplane mode" which isolates it from transmitting or receiving. In that mode, you have access to whatever is stored in the phone (call it a hard drive for now), but only what is already there. It is limited. Now consider your mind as a hard drive (Could that be the old blueprint?). You always have access to whatever you have stored on your hard drive. That is the easy path.

Now, when you turn off Airplane Mode, you can access anything on the world wide web. The old limits are removed and a flood of possibilities open to you.  In the same way, when you connect to the Universal mind (or when you recognize that you are connected to the Universal mind), your limits are removed and you have access to everything to which the Infinite has access. It is this truth, that when you know it, makes you free.

The Sit

Haanel refers to "seeking the Silence' in the Sit. Do you remember how difficult it was to just hold your body still for five minutes six months ago? Now you can be still for hours or days at a time.  You even learned to tame the chatter of your mind, so you can hear the Infinite speaking to you. You know how to "Be still and know".

Some of you accepted the challenge to seek the Silence for a weekend. It is in that silence that the truth penetrates into your subconscious and you realize that you are "more than a conqueror." You absolutely know that you are "whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy." And you keep your promises to yourself and those you know.

Congratulations as you find your flower and make the world a better place.

Remember to Like and Share. Peace be your journey.
