2018 MKE Week 13 – Part of the Whole
We all want to be part of something bigger than ourselves. The truth is that we are. We are part of the Infinite. The Bible says that we are made in the image of God. That is to say we are of the same kind and character. We are creators with our thoughts and our words. According to the Bible, God did not say "Boy, it sure is dark." No, He said "Light be" and BANG there was light. (That would be the big bang theory.)
For our exercise this week, we are to write at least three things for which we are grateful each day. Stacy MonteroMorris had no problem with that:
As I sit on our flight to Kauai, I am grateful for an experienced American Airlines Flight Captain and First Officer that are making sure that we get there safely. I am grateful for their supportive families as many of them are/have been in the military and are away from their homes for periods of time. I am grateful to the flight attendants that have been so kind to us. I am grateful to the gate agents that were friendly and helped us check in our luggage. I know that it will get there along with us with no issues! (Yes, they did!!) I am grateful for the ground crew that along with the flight crew did all the necessary safety checks to ensure a safe flight.
And neither did Karin Parsons.
I am so grateful for the reminder of the importance of Gratitude and a tangible way to record it daily and repeat it regularly through our infamous index cards! Two of my favorite verses focuses on giving thanks/gratitude are … “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and “Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:20
We are reminded that gratitude is a cause, not an effect. We can be grateful for the truths put forth by Mr. Haanel.
26. We can best conserve our interests by recognizing the Infinite Power and Infinite Wisdom of the Universal Mind, and in this way become a channel whereby the Infinite can bring about the realization of our desire. This means that recognition brings about realization, therefore for your exercise this week make use of the principle, recognize the fact that you are a part of the whole, and that a part must be the same in kind and quality as the whole; the only difference there can possibly by, is in degree.
27. When this tremendous fact begins to permeate your consciousness, when you really come into a realization of the fact that you (not your body, but the Ego), the "I," the spirit which thinks, is an integral part of the great whole, that it is the same in substance, in quality, in kind, that the Creator could create nothing different from Himself, you will also be able to say, "The Father and I are one" and you will come into an understanding of the beauty, the grandeur, the transcendental opportunities which have been placed at your disposal.
Joe Yoga finds the same thing in The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale.
Earl Nightingale had a booming, baritone voice I could only dream of. I took public speaking courses in college and I still do not sound like a foghorn, that is okay. My point here is what he talks about, and that is finding a purpose in your life has no boundaries/borders. Even back when he recorded his now famous ‘Strangest Secret” people were facing all sorts of insecurities and this was just after the Second World War.
